Goal setting and development paths for career starters - how Complion supports you

The start of a new career opens up a wide range of opportunities and possibilities. These are often linked to personal goals that lay the foundation for professional success.

At Complion, we aim to support you on your path of personal and professional development - so that you can realize your career goals.

In this blog post, we show you what measures we are taking to achieve this and what prospects are open to you with us.

1. Mentoring & MBO (Management by Objectives)

Learning is a continuous process - especially in consulting. By working on customer projects and regularly exchanging ideas with experienced colleagues, you gain valuable practical experience. In this way, you will continue to develop through application-oriented experience instead of just absorbing theory from books or pure training.

 Mentoring program:

We will provide you with a mentor to accompany you on your journey. He or she will help you to define goals, evaluate your progress and continuously develop your professional skills. In addition to professional challenges, your mentor will also support you with personal issues - for example, when it comes to taking a sabbatical or planning parental leave.

Management by Objectives (MbO):

Within our MbO process, you set yourself specific goals at the beginning of each year, which you define in consultation with your mentor. During the year, regular reviews take place in which both your current level of target achievement and possible adjustments to the targets are discussed. At the end of the year, a joint review is scheduled in which not only your successes are acknowledged, but also new goals for the coming year are defined.

2. Career paths at Complion

You can use the following career levels to guide your development as a consultant at Complion. Reaching a higher career level is linked to measurable criteria that are jointly developed and communicated transparently. Through the mentoring program and the MBO process, you will receive targeted support and the support you need to advance to the next career level. Nevertheless, promotion is never automatic, but always linked to your performance and commitment.

Junior Consultant: If you have completed your Bachelor's degree or have successfully completed a relevant apprenticeship, you will start with us as a Junior Consultant. During this entry phase, you will gain valuable practical experience by working on client projects and receive support through close cooperation with our senior colleagues.

Consultant: With a completed Master's degree or existing professional experience, it is possible to start as a consultant. Your focus will be on building up specialist knowledge and deepening it in customer projects. As a consultant, you will also take on your first administrative tasks and learn to take responsibility for smaller sub-projects.

Senior Consultant: In this role as a Senior Consultant, you will have more responsibility in customer projects and at the same time take on a greater proportion of administrative tasks. You will deepen your specialist knowledge, for example through additional qualifications or individual specialization, and thus lay the foundation for expertise that will support you in your future career. Promotion to Senior Consultant is possible after around three to five years of relevant consulting experience.

Manager: In this position as a manager, you will manage projects independently, actively contribute to the acquisition of new clients and can opt for a specialist career or a management position. This comes with greater responsibility in dealing with clients and managing internal processes. If you have around six years of relevant professional experience, you have the opportunity to become a manager.

Senior Manager: As a Senior Manager, you are characterized by special expertise. You will also be responsible for managing key administrative areas, account management and the strategic development of the company through business development activities. You act as an interface between clients, internal teams and management and play a key role in driving Complion's growth. As a Senior Manager, you will generally have around ten years of relevant professional experience.

3. Further training offers

In addition to practical experience, which you will primarily gain in project work, Complion supports the development of your professional and personal skills through further training opportunities.

Specialist training in areas such as Software Asset Management (SAM), Cloud, Cyber Security or Compliance will help you to deepen your expert knowledge and develop further in your area of specialization. We also organize regular team training sessions to improve your soft skills - for example in communication technology or presentation skills. We also encourage you to develop your foreign language skills.

4. Other: Experience abroad & sabbatical

A successful professional life does not mean that personal wishes and experiences have to be neglected. That's why we support initiatives such as sabbaticals and working abroad. At Complion, neither a sabbatical nor working abroad means that you automatically have to forego career opportunities - on the contrary: we see such experiences as enriching, which will benefit you in the long term and enable you to continue to progress seamlessly after your return.

Conclusion and outlook

Our goal at Complion is to offer you an environment in which you can develop professionally and personally. The clearly defined career levels - from Junior Consultant to Senior Manager - are designed to provide you with guidance. At the same time, our mentoring program will provide you with personal support that will accompany and encourage you at every stage of your career.

We want to help you realize your individual career plans by offering a wide range of training opportunities and the chance to gain international experience. We look forward to supporting you on your journey at Complion.
