Mein Einstieg bei Complion im Bereich Software Asset Management (SAM)

How did I get started as a SAM consultant at Complion? I have been working for the company for almost a year now and would like to share some impressions and experiences. I started as a working student during my studies and decided to stay with Complion after graduating.

My first day at work was marked by a curious moment: as I entered my project manager's office, my gaze fell on a multitude of circuit boards and open hardware components on his desk. At that moment, I briefly wondered whether, as a software asset manager, I should not only manage digital assets. A year later, it is obvious to me that the configuration of hardware is one of the many tasks of a license manager.

The first few weeks at Complion not only gave me an intense introduction to the world of IT and license management, but also allowed me to gain direct insights into customer projects. My mentor and project manager played a key role in this. He taught me everything relevant to IT and the various interfaces to license management. Together, we explored a wide variety of license metrics and immersed ourselves in the worlds of both small and large vendors. During my first days at work, I worked directly with customers and gained an understanding of the major vendors and the tasks involved in software license management.

The early days at Complion were extremely exciting and instructive. Although I was initially hired as a working student, I felt very comfortable in the team and got to know the entire team in Cologne personally after about a month. Thanks to regular meetings, the team spirit is present, even though we work in different locations.

In addition to my project tasks, I was able to support the development of the service portfolio in the area of Commercial IT Management at Complion. This experience gave me an insight into Complion's diverse projects and deepened my understanding of the field of activity

The onboarding process went smoothly. I signed the contract within a few weeks and started at Complion. Within the first few days, I was given all the necessary access and the IT equipment was ready for use. I was also provided with the appropriate IT by the customer so that I could work in their environment.

I am looking forward to more exciting projects and a successful time at Complion.
