Knowledge Friday – joint learning on Fridays

At Knowledge Friday, the entire Complion team meets once a month – on Fridays, of course – to exchange ideas on current topics and project methods. This month we would like to give you an insight into how it works and what is discussed.

As with every good meeting, there is also an agenda with topics for Knowledge Friday. Accordingly, everyone can prepare themselves. There is also time for a spontaneous exchange on current issues.

This month two topics were discussed.

1. Presentation of a subproject within a large IT outsourcing project

Jan started Knowledge Friday with a brief overview of a current project in a large company, in which the complete IT service catalog is to be handed over to an IT service provider. Since the beginning of the year, we have been providing support in a sub-project to set up a knowledge base as well as in the preparation and implementation of internal company training.

After a first insight into the project, there was a task for all participants of the Knowledge Friday: Jan carried out a short role play with us, in which we found ourselves in the role of the local IT manager of the customer. On the basis of a reference process presentation, we jointly considered how this could be improved and optimally presented from the user's point of view.

Jan then gave us a brief introduction to HTML. Using an application example from the project presented, we were able to see how an optimized display can be implemented quite easily using HTML.

2. Update of a Complion-internal editorial process

In the second part Tobias brought us the editorial process from the CSCC team. The CSCC is a managed security service of VOICE e.V. for IT decision makers and IT security experts. In weekly meetings, community members discuss the most important cybersecurity topics of the hour. The format is supported by Complion as a managed security service provider.

For the editorial process, an update of the visualization was on the agenda. Tobias, who is primarily responsible for the editorial process, decided to use the Knowledge Friday to leverage a wide variety of experiences from the team on process visualizations for this purpose. After Tobias had presented the current process to us, we collected suggestions for optimizing the visualization and discussed the approaches.

In this format, we were once again able to benefit from an exciting exchange within the team, in which the most diverse project experiences flowed in. Here, we discuss at eye level, so that younger colleagues also participate in the discussion on an equal footing.
