Complion goes Ingolstadt - our Summer Team Event
Team events have a long tradition at Complion. Twice a year, our teams, which are normally spread across Germany, meet in one place to work together, explore a new city and have a great time. This year's summer event took Complion to Ingolstadt to practice archery, learn about the city's dark Illuminati past and sample Bavarian delicacies.
Contrary to Complion tradition, there was no railway strike last Wednesday, which meant that almost the entire team was able to arrive by train. Bavaria greeted us with its best weather and, in keeping with local tradition, after a short welcoming speech from the organizing team, we headed straight to a beer garden to put the local culinary situation through its paces.
"First the work, then the pleasure" applied to us on Thursday. In the business part of the team event, we worked on the direction of the company, professional and personal development and other internal topics.
Afterwards, it got straight down to sports. Both a strong shoulder and a steady hand were required for archery. First at ten and then at twenty meters, brave Complionites practiced in the Olympic spirit on the sports equipment that can shoot arrows. After a few test shots, the team got the hang of it and the arrows grouped noticeably closer together in the middle of the targets. We rounded off the Thursday evening with burgers and subsequent cocktails in the Postwagen.
On Friday, we were ready to explore Ingolstadt. We did this first by being guided through the mysterious history of the city by the Illuminati Brother "Aristotle" (or was it the founder of the order, Adam Weißhaupt, himself?). One member of the team even received the honor of being accepted into the shadowy brotherhood. From now on, he will be officially addressed as "Brother Theophrast".
Afterwards and strengthened by a delicious lunch, the team set off on a city rally. Divided into groups, the team was confronted with various puzzles relating to Ingolstadt. Equipped with cut-up maps, compasses and GPS trackers, the groups set off on a treasure hunt through the old town, from the Danube to the fairground and the town hall. Exhausted from the day's exertions, we returned to a Bavarian inn to fortify ourselves for the journey home the following day.
